We are pleased to announce that the library recently received a unique book “The Phenomenon of Batyrkhan Shukenov: Performing Arts and Creative Heritage” as a gift from teachers of the Kazakh National University of Arts.

Eight years have passed since the death of Batyrkhan Shukenov, but his songs continue to attract the attention of listeners and are popular. Authors of the monograph: Smetova Almagul Amantaevna - candidate of pedagogical sciences, professor, Ryskulov Kuanysh Toktarbaevich – master of art, senior teacher, Zhugunusov Rustem Erbolatuly - master of art history.

The researchers set themselves a difficult task - to study the phenomenon of a person, his emotional image, his subjective and objective constants using the means of musical art. The study examined the memories of colleagues, like-minded people who were in direct contact with Batyrkhan Shukenov. The book presents the biography and creative path of Batyrkhan Shukenov not only as a vocalist, but also as a composer and instrumentalist, provides an analysis of vocal compositions, discographies, analyzes the worldview and aesthetic views of the musician, and their reflection in music.

A special place in the musical culture of Kazakhstan is occupied by Batyrkhan Shukenov, who for the last thirty years has been among the favorite pop singers and composers of Kazakhstan. The singer passed away early, leaving behind a very rich legacy, which was included in the treasury of not only Kazakh, but also Russian music.

The monograph is intended for musicians, as well as a wide range of readers, lovers of music and the work of Batyrkhan Shukenov.
