  On  February 15, 2024, a presentation of the piano collection “In Memory of a Page”  by composer Alexander Romanov took place at the Kazakh National University of  Arts. Compilers of the collection: teachers of KazNUA Marianna and Dmitry  Ostankovich. The presentation was attended by Honored Worker of the Republic of  Kazakhstan S.Zh.Erkimbekov, Doctor of Art History, Professor U.R. Dzhumakova,  candidate of art history T.V. Kharlamova, Dean of the Faculty of Musicology and  Piano, Associate Professor D.V.Ostankovich. The presentation was attended by a  1st year student of the KazNUA College Zhumangarina Togzhan, who performed “On  the Waltz Waltz”, “Two Fantastic Dances” and other works by Alexander Romanov.
  
  Alexander  Dmitrievich Romanov is one of the brightest figures in the musical art of the  republic in the second half of the 20th and first half of the 21st centuries.  Soviet and Kazakh composer, member of the Union of Composers of the USSR,  member of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, member of the Music Fund of the  USSR, pianist, music teacher. Founder of the professional South Kazakhstan  composing school. Veteran of labor, winner of the scholarship of the Akim of  the South Kazakhstan region “Madeniet kairatkeri”, “Eren enbegi ushin”. Name  Romanov A.D. recorded in the book of honor of the Shymkent College of Music, as  well as in the Encyclopedia of Cultural and Art Workers of the South Kazakhstan  Region. In 2010, a star was named after him on the alley of stars of cultural  figures of the South Kazakhstan region in the park named after Sh. Kaldayakov  in the city of Shymkent.
  
The  composer's creative heritage is very rich. Author of more than five hundred  works of various genres, including oratorios, cantatas, symphonies, concertos,  music for films, numerous works of chamber, vocal and program music, music for  theatrical productions.
The  library has A. Romanov’s collection “An Offering to the Portrait of Bach”, and  we are glad that our collection has been replenished with another collection by  a talented composer and pianist. As the composer’s daughter, Marianna  Ostankovich, notes, the collection “In Memory of the Page” includes plays from  the early period of Alexander Romanov’s work. The plays are varied in  intonation material, genre and range of artistic images. The publication is  addressed to performers of a high level of professional training.
