On April 11, 2024, at the Kazakh National University of Arts, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Kazakh academician, geologist Kanysh Imantaevich Satpayev, the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities held a round table “Kanysh Satbaev - Galym. Tulga. Patriot”, the library organized the exhibition “Kanysh Satbaev - Ult Maktanyshy”.

KazNUA teachers made a welcoming speech at the round table: associate professor of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines Baimukhanova Kuralai Khasanovna, candidate of philological sciences, professor Aiman Orazgalievna Kaudyrova, methodologist of the Bayanaul Memorial Museum of Academician K.I. Satbaeva Balabaeva Gauhar Serikkazykyzy. The moderator of the round table is senior lecturer Yuksel Ainagul Tilekzhanovna.

Their reports were presented by Imanzhusip Raushan Nurkhankyzy - Doctor of Philology of the Eurasian University, Erimbetova Kundyzay Myrzashevna - Candidate of Historical Sciences, leading researcher at the Institute of State History of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almira Esbolovna Omarova - Doctor of Philosophy, graduate of the Philosophical Center of the School of Social Sciences of Jawaharlal Nehru University. Interesting, informative reports were prepared by our students Tursyn Layla, Ergali Nazerke, Kobey Zhanna, Kairat Nursaya, Makhanova Gulzhamila.

The exhibition “Kanysh Satbaev - Ult Maktanyshy” was presented to the attention of the participants, where one could familiarize themselves with encyclopedias, reference books, monographs, conference materials and fresh articles from periodicals dedicated to the life and work of Kanysh Satbaev, as well as photographs and quotes from the great scientist .

Kanysh Imantaevich Satpayev is a Soviet academician, geologist, organizer of science and public figure, one of the founders of Soviet metallogenic science, founder of the Kazakh school of metallogeny. First President of the Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Geological Sciences. A scientist who made a huge contribution to the development of Kazakh science, he published about 800 scientific articles. A multifaceted man, he was interested not only in science, but also in music, art, and literature. Kanysh Satpayev was the greatest thinker and leader of society for his time.

Library employees Omarova Saule Shaizadanovna, Kudaibergenova Nurgul Kudaibergenovna conducted a review of the exhibition and a quiz dedicated to the life and work of Kanysh Satpayev. The quiz aroused keen interest among students; those who answered the most questions were awarded valuable prizes - books.

I would like to note that the audience of the round table was very thoughtful and attentive; no one wanted to leave, since they wanted to talk about Kanysh Satpayev for a very long time.

After the round table, library staff continued introducing students to the exhibition in the reading room. 1st year students took part in the review along with KazNUA teacher Aigul Kydyrgalikyzy Baibek, who is the producer of the film about Satpayev, expected soon in the country's cinemas.
