«Nova Geração Musical 2023» - «New Music Generation 2023»
Disposições gerais
- O V Concurso Internacional de Compositores «New Music Generation 2023» será realizado entre 2 e 6 de outubro de 2023, em Astana, República do Cazaquistão.
- A competição será realizada com apoio da Universidade Nacional de Artes do Cazaquistão, com a assistência do Ministério da Cultura e Esportes da República do Cazaquistão.

Metas e objetivos do Concurso: 1. Popularização da música acadêmica moderna em toda a sua diversidade;2. Apoio à criatividade de jovens compositores;3. Identificação de novos talentos e estímulo à sua criatividade;4. Contribuição para o desenvolvimento de escolas de compositores nacionais e de todo o mundo; fortalecimento da imagem cultural do Cazaquistão no cenário mundial;5. Estimular jovens músicos e compositores a estudarem as mais modernas técnicas de composição;6. Ampliar os horizontes e a visão criativa de jovens compositores e músicos.
Os procedimentos e as condições do Concurso: 1. Compositores de todos os países podem participar da competição. 2. A competição será realizada para três faixas etárias: (1) Primeiro grupo - até 20 anos inclusive; (2) Segundo grupo - de 21 a 27 anos inclusive; (3) Terceiro grupo - de 28 a 35 anos inclusive. 3. A competição será realizada nas seguintes categorias: (1) «Obra vocal» (o número de cantores não é limitado, com ou sem acompanhamento instrumental); (2) «Obra de câmara» (de 1 a 15 intérpretes); (3) «Obra sinfônica» (com ou sem solista/solistas, vocalistas).
4. Caso uma obra vocal tenha a participação de orquestra sinfônica, esta obra deverá ser encaminhada para a categoria «Obra Sinfônica». 5. Cada concorrente tem o direito de participar simultaneamente em todas as categorias. Por sua vez, o prêmio poderá ser concedido em apenas uma das categorias, por decisão do júri. 6. Em cada uma das categorias, o concorrente tem o direito de apresentar apenas uma obra (partitura). 7. Podem participar do concurso obras publicadas, executadas publicamente, e obras inéditas.
- Partituras (obras) premiadas (prêmios ou diplomas) nos anteriores Concursos Internacionais de Compositores, versões I, II, III e IV do «New Music Generation», realizados entre 2019-2022, não podem ser reenviadas.
9. A competição será realizada on-line. A principal condição para a participação no concurso é o envio da candidatura, elaborada de acordo com as exigências, e a partitura do trabalho. Os resultados do concurso serão publicados no site oficial do KazNUA https://kaznui.edu.kz. 10. O nome e sobrenome do compositor concorrente não devem constar em nenhum lugar da partitura, devem ser substituídos por uma palavra-chave (cifra identificadora). Caso o competidor venha participar de várias categorias, sua palavra-chave (cifra identificadora) em todas as partituras deve ser a mesma. O nome e o sobrenome do competidor, também, não devem constar no arquivo PDF da partitura.
11. O tempo de duração de uma obra, em todas as faixas etárias, deve ser indicado na partitura. Obedece a seguinte regra: (1) Na categoria «Obra vocal» - de 5 a 15 minutos. (2) Na categoria «Obra de Câmara» - de 5 a 15 minutos. (3) Na categoria «Obra Sinfônica» - de 8 a 20 minutos. 12. Para participar do Concurso, devem ser enviados os seguintes documentos em formato eletrônico:
(1) Inscrição eletrônica preenchida on-line no formulário indicado (link no site https://kaznui.edu.kz na seção: «Анонс»).(2) No pedido deve conter a palavra-chave (cifra identificadora) sob a qual a obra está inscrita, a faixa etária, a categoria, o título, data, local de nascimento e nacionalidade do autor, uma breve biografia, uma cópia do passaporte, uma fotografia, dados de contacto (endereço postal completo, e-mail e número de telefone), etc.(3) Partitura completa da obra com indicação da palavra-chave (cifra identificadora).(4) Os documentos exigidos devem ser apresentados a partir da data de publicação deste REGULAMENTO, no site https://kaznui.edu.kz até 16 de setembro de 2023. 13. O registro da candidatura para a participação deste Concurso constitui prova de que o participante concorda, incondicionalmente, com todos os pontos dos requisitos do presente REGULAMENTO e os aceita integralmente. O procedimento de inscrição ocorre online.
14. Ao preencher o formulário do concurso e enviar a partitura de sua obra, fica estabelecido que o participante concorda, automaticamente, com o processamento e o armazenamento dos seus dados pessoais; incluíndo a gravação da execução da obra em formato de áudio/vídeo; execução pública; transmissão por redes de televisão, Internet; impressão, distribuição e armazenamento das partituras. Prêmios do Concurso. Primeira faixa etária (até 20 anos inclusive): 1º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 100.000 tenge cazaque2º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 80.000 tenge cazaque3º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 40.000 tenge cazaque
Segunda faixa etária (dos 21 aos 27 anos inclusive): 1º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 200.000 tenge cazaque2º lugar – Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 160.000 tenge cazaque3º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 120.000 tenge cazaque Terceira faixa etária (dos 28 aos 35 anos inclusive): 1º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 600.000 tenge cazaque2º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 400.000 tenge cazaque3º lugar - Diploma de honra ao mérito e prêmio em dinheiro - 200.000 tenge cazaque
GRANDE PRÊMIO - 1.000.000 tenge cazaque O Grande Prêmio é concedido apenas na faixa etária mais avançada na categoria «Obra sinfônica». A editora musical alemã Verlag Neue Musik Berlin oferece a publicação das partituras da obra que receber o Grande Prêmio do concurso (categoria «Obra sinfônica», faixa etária sênior). A publicação ficará sujeita a um acordo apropriado ou contrato, entre o compositor vencedor e a editora. O processo posterior deve ser discutido diretamente entre o compositor vencedor e a editora. Após a publicação dos resultados da competição no site oficial https://kaznui.edu.kz, os laureados da competição devem enviar seus dados bancários à comissão organizadora por e-mail até 14 de outubro de 2023, pelo e-mail nmg.kaznui@gmail.com. Caso contrário, a comissão organizadora se reserva o direito de não enviar o prêmio. Os laureados do concurso, após receber o prémio em valor monetário na conta bancária, deverão confirmar o recebimento do mesmo através do envio de mensagem para nmg.kaznui@gmail.com.
O comitê organizador resolverá outras questões organizacionais que surgirem durante a preparação e realização do concurso. Pessoas físicas e jurídicas, de comum acordo com a Comissão Organizadora do Concurso, poderão estabelecer outras premiações especiais. Júri da Competição
(1) Para avaliar o trabalho dos participantes do Concurso, bem como sintetizar os resultados, será constituído um júri. A composição do júri será formada por músicos conhecidos da atualidade, figuras proeminentes da cultura e da arte. O júri será referendado pelo Magnífico Reitor da Universidade Nacional de Artes do Cazaquistão. (2) Todas as decisões do júri serão definitivas e não estarão sujeitas a revisão. (3) A decisão do júri será lavrada em ata, protocolada e assinada por todos os seus membros. (4) Caso aconteça empate de votos, prevalece o voto do presidente do júri. (5) O Júri do Concurso tem o direito de não atribuir ou dividir os prêmios, estabelecidos pela Comissão Organizadora, entre os concorrentes.

Terms and Conditions
General terms
1. The 5th International Composer Competition «New Music Generation 2023» shall be held in Astana city, the Republic of Kazakhstan, from 2nd to 6th October, 2023.
2. The Competition shall be held by the Kazakh National University of Arts in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Goals and objectives of the Competition
The goals and objectives of the Competition are as follows:
1. Popularize contemporary academic music in all diversity;
2. Support young composers’ creativity;
3. Discover new talents and stimulate their creativity;
4. Contribute to the development of national and world composing schools and strengthen the cultural image of Kazakhstan as a part of the world community;
5. Encourage young musicians and composers to study the newest composing techniques;
6. Broaden young composers ’ and musicians ’ horizons and creative outlook.
Admission terms and conditions
1. Composers from all countries of the world are eligible to participate in the competition. There are no restrictions relating to the place of residence or citizenship.
2. Composers belonging to the following age divisions are permitted to participate in the Competition:
- 1st division – under/or 20 years old;
- 2nd division – from 21 to/or 27 years old;
- 3rd division – from 28 to/or 35 years old.
3. The Competition shall consist of the following nominations:
- «Vocal Composition»
(the number of singers is not limited; with or without instrumental accompaniment);
- «Chamber Composition»
(from 1 to 15 performers);
- «Symphonic Composition»
(with soloist or soloists; including vocalists, or without them).
4. If a symphony orchestra is used along with a vocal composition, this piece must be submitted for the «Symphonic Composition» nomination.
5. Each Participant has the right to participate in all nominations simultaneously. However, the prize can be awarded only for one of the nominations based upon the Jury decision.
6. The Participant has the right to submit only one musical work/score for each nomination.
7. Published and publicly performed works as well as unpublished ones are eligible for submission.
8. The scores (works) that have received awards (prizes or diplomas) in previous International Composer Competitions I-IV «New Music Generation» 2019-2022 cannot be submitted again.
9. The Competition shall be held online. The main condition for participation in the Competition is the submitted application completed in accordance with requirements and the score of a music piece. The results of the Competition shall be made public on the official website of KazNUA https://kaznui.edu.kz.
10. Participant ’s name and surname must not be present anywhere on the score sheets; they must be replaced by a motto (identifier code). If a contestant participates in more than one nomination, their motto must be the same on all scores. Participant ’s name and surname must not be a part of the PDF score file name.
11. The duration of the musical work for all divisions must meet the following standards, and must be indicated in the music score:
- «Vocal composition» - from 5 to 15 minutes;
- «Chamber composition» - from 5 to 15 minutes;
- «Symphonic composition» - from 8 to 20 minutes.
12. In order to participate in the Competition the following electronic documents must be submitted:
- A completed application form (link on the website https://kaznui.edu.kz)
- The application must contain the motto, age division and nomination, author’s name, date, place of birth and citizenship, a short biography, a copy of the author ’s passport, a photo, contact details (full postal address, e-mail address and phone number), etc.
- Complete score of the work which includes a motto.
- The required documents must be submitted a timely manner from the date when the given Terms and Conditions are made public on the website https://kaznui.edu.kz by September 16, 2023.

13. The fact of sending an application to participate in the Competition is the evidence that the Participant unconditionally agrees with all the points of the requirements of the given Terms and Conditions and fully accepts them. The registration procedure takes place online.
14. By filling out an application and by sending the musical score, a Participant of the competition agrees with the processing and storing their personal data, including a recording of their musical work or works in audio/video format, public performance, TV/Internet broadcasting, printing, distribution and storage of scores.
Awards
1st division – under/or 20 years old:
1 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 100 000 tenge
2 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 80 000 tenge
3 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 40 000 tenge
2nd division – from 21 to/or 27 years old:
1 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 200 000 tenge
2 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 160 000 tenge
3 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 120 000 tenge
3rd division – from 28 to/or 35 years old:
1 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 600 000 tenge
2 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 400 000 tenge
3 place – A Honorary Diploma and a prize – 200 000 tenge
Grand Prix – 1 000 000 tenge
Grand Prix is awarded only for the nomination «Symphonic Composition» in the third age division group.
Verlag Neue Musik, Berlin (Germany) offers to publish and promote the score of the work that will win the Grand Prix (nomination «Symphonic Composition», 3rd age division), upon signing relevant agreement/contract between composer-winner and the publishing house. Further process should be negotiated directly by composer-winner and the publisher.
After the results of the Competition are published on the official website
https://kaznui.edu.kz, the winners of Competition must submit their bank details to the organizing committee

nmg.kaznui@gmail.com no later than October 14, 2023. Otherwise, the Organizing Committee reserves the right not to send the prize.
The winners of the Competition must confirm receipt of the prize by sending a confirmation letter to nmg.kaznui@gmail.com.
The Organizing Committee shall resolve any issues relating to the competition in case such emerge during the preparation to and the competition itself.
Individuals and legal bodies may award their own special prizes in agreement with the Organizing Committee.
The Competition Jury
- The Jury is created in order to evaluate the work of the participants of the Competition as well as to summarize the results. The Jury consists of outstanding musicians of our time, prominent figures of culture and art, and is appointed and approved by the Rector of the Kazakh National University of Arts.
- All decisions of the Jury are final and are not subject to revision.
- The decisions of the Jury are included in the Records and signed by all its members.
- In case of equality of votes, the vote of the Jury ’s Chairman shall be the deciding vote.
- The Competition Jury has the right not to award or to divide the prizes assigned by the Organizing Committee.
Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin (Kazakhstan)
Artistic Director and Chairman of Jury, composer and pianist, author of 2 operas and more than 150 classical music compositions. Master of Art Sciences, winner of ‘Daryn’ State Youth Award, holder of the Honorary Badge ‘For Merits in the Development of Culture and Art’ of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, member of Association of Tchaikovsky Competition Stars. Winner of the National project ‘100 new faces of Kazakhstan’.
Yuri Kasparov (Russia)
Composer, Professor of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Chevalier de ‘L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ (France). Was awarded the badge of Kazakhstan ‘Madeniet Salasinin Uzdigi’. He is winner of the All-Union Composers Competition (1985, the First Prize), winner of the Guido d’Arezzo International Composers Competition (Italy, 1989, the First Prize); winner of the Henri Dutilleux International Composers Competition (France, 1996, Le Grand Prix).
Tristan Murail (France)
Composer, one of the creators of the spectral technique, the most significant author of contemporary music in France and Europe, a recognized leader in the world of new music, one of the founders of the Ensemble l’Itinéraire. Winner of the Prix de Rome (1971), Professor of Columbia University in New York City (the USA, 1997-2010), he was guest professor at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (Austria). Since 2015 he is a guest professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (China).
Vladimir Tarnopolski (Russia/Germany)
Composer, Visiting Professor at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. He is the founder of ensemble ‘Studio of New Music’ and the ‘Centre for Contemporary Music’ at the Moscow Conservatory. Until 2022 was Professor of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. His music was performed by Mstislav Rostropovich, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Jurowski etc., and by many leading orchestras and ensembles around the world. Fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, member of Saxon Academy of Arts, winner of Shostakovich Prize and Hindemith Prize.
Ivan Fedele (Italy)
Composer, Chevalier de ‘L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ (France), Academic, Professor of Composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. In 2012-2019 he was director of the Music Section of the Venice Biennale. He was awarded Prix International ‘Arthur Honegger’. He participated in academic activities of such institutions as Harvard University, University of California, Berkeley (USA), Sorbonne and IRCAM in Paris, CNSM in Lyon and CNR of Strasbourg (France), University of Barcelona (Spain), Sibelius Academy of Helsinki (Finland) etc., and a number of Italian Conservatoires.
